Heim Fellows

College students are as varied in the service interests as they are in their academic interests. Some students may be committed to a single issue but attack it from many different angles. Other students may be interested in working with a single agency because they connect with the organization's mission.  Other students may be interested in facilitating service opportunities for their peers rather than committing to a single issue or agency.

The Bruce J. Heim Foundation Student Service Fellow is an undergraduate peer mentor who assists students in navigating the varied service paths and opportunities available to them.  Heim Fellows will:

  • Meet with individual students to help them navigate both academic and extracurricular community engagement opportunities;
  • Facilitate "Pathways to Service" workshops;
  • Plan community engagement awareness programs and help promote CPS programming; and
  • Work with Get Engaged RLC and mentor participants.

If you would like to set up a meeting to speak with one of the Heim Fellows or are interested in scheduling a Pathways to Service workshop, please email
