WaveCorps

WaveCorps is a summer service program funded in part by the Corporation for National and Community Service and AmeriCorps*VISTA. Volunteers participating in WaveCorps support organizations in New Orleans that are preventing summer learning loss in K-12 students through entertaining camps that bridge the time between the school year. This summer, students will work with summer programs at A's and AcesUpward Bound, Upturn Arts, Community WorksTop Box Foods, and Electric Girls

Participants will receive a living stipend of $2000 (for the 8 weeks), an end-of-service education award of $1300 (which must be applied to your tuition or a qualifying student loans), as well as training and professional development from Tulane. The program runs during June and July each summer, including training and orientation sessions. If students would like to add a public service internship to their WaveCorps experience, they need to complete additional hours of service at the end of the program as well as take part in a weekly seminar at Tulane. Please inquire for further information and registration details regarding the internship option.
